SUPERS’ SKYDIVE FOR ACTION MS
Local charity Action MS has won the support of SLA Networks, the seventh fastest growing technology company in the UK and No 1 in Northern Ireland, with a showpiece Supers’ Skydive on Saturday 6 September.
Superman and Spiderman, together with 16 staff from the firm’s Belfast office will fly through the air as they jump out at 13,000 feet. The Superhero’s Skydive is the brainchild of the firm’s IT engineer Ryan McCracken who wanted to raise money for Action MS.
Action MS supports people living with multiple sclerosis, their families and carers in Northern Ireland. Ryan said that he had learned of the charity’s tremendous work following a friend’s diagnosis with multiple sclerosis.
Action MS Executive Director Jayne Smyth said the Action MS team were looking forward to a fun event. Jayne said: “Action MS is delighted to have been chosen by SLA Networks as their nominated charity of the year. Their support will enable Action MS to maintain and develop its extensive range of services for people living with multiple sclerosis.
Jayne went on to say: “Action MS depends entirely on the generosity of local people and businesses. The team at SLA Networks have been enthusiastic and generous supporters of Action MS since our first meeting.
"Multiple sclerosis is a neurological condition that affects thousands of people in Northern Ireland, their families and carers. With the support of leading companies, like SLA Networks, Action MS is working toward expanding its services in rural towns all across the Province.
“I wish the SLA team every success with their Skydive. I know they have all been doing a lot of fundraising for Action MS and I look forward to working with them in the coming months."
SLA CEO Nic Stirk said: “This is the first time that we as a company have nominated a charity of the year. We are pleased that Action MS is the selected charity. I am delighted that the team at SLA Networks are fully supportive of this very deserving cause and we look forward to a successful partnership.”

SLA's Skydive for Action MS
The 13,000 foot skydive will be held on the 6th of September at the Wild Geese Skydiving Center in Coleraine. There are currently 16 members of staff participating in the jump from SLA Networks, SLA Mobile and SLA Building Controls.
The goal of the skydive is to raise awareness along with raising some much needed funds for multiple sclerosis.
Multiple sclerosis is the most commonly diagnosed neurological condition among young adults in the UK and Ireland today. The cause of multiple sclerosis remains unknown and as yet there is no cure.
Action MS is Northern Ireland's leading multiple sclerosis charity, providing support to people with MS, their families and carers for over 30 years. They offer an extensive range of support services which all have been designed and implemented in partnership with people living with MS.

New Mobile Advertising Alliance Launched at Mobile World Congress 2008, Barcelona
Consortium of best-of-breed software players allows greater monetisation of mobile network resources and highly flexible advertising campaigns
Barcelona February 05, 2008 – A new consortium of companies was today announced, prior to the Mobile World Congress (11th to 14th February, 2008), that promises to revolutionise the mobile phone network as an advertising and direct marketing opportunity.
The Mobile Advertising Alliance is a collaborative venture between software vendors Anam, Cibenix, Mobile Cohesion, Openet and SLA Mobile.
Each member firm provides a best-of-breed component of a mobile advertising platform. The Alliance has defined a platform that allows mobile operators to secure their position in the mobile advertising market and advertisers to reach a wide market with uniquely targeted campaigns. It also allows systems integrators to achieve rapid integration of proven software solutions with existing telecommunications infrastructure.
According to Nic Stirk of Alliance member SLA Mobile, “Our advertising solution is an easy-to-use platform that delivers both mobile advertising and direct marketing – something that has been very difficult to achieve in the past. The platform provides secure access to operator-owned demographic, behavioural and contextual profiling data and provides multiple media channels to deliver personalised and targeted campaigns. In the mobile medium personalization ensures that advertising is seen as appropriate and relevant for the mobile user – thereby overcoming the shortcomings of other approaches. Context is key.”
Gerry McKenna of Alliance member Anam agrees that the inherent flexibility of the platform is important for success. “Flexible campaign management and real-time feedback reporting ensure that advertisers can continually refine campaigns and only pay for results. From an advertiser point of view they get the analytics, reach and purity of audience that is so essential in one-to-one marketing. We are confident that our combined skills and integrated platform will, for the first time, make mobile viable as an advertising medium.”
